A Hospital-based Observational Study of Newly diagnosed Sthula Prameha Subjects with special reference to type 2 Diabetes Mellitus from Maharashtra, India

The aim of this study is to provide a real picture the disease burden Prameha in society. was performed Government Ayurved College and Hospital, Nagpur, Maharashtra during Oct 2015-Mar 2016. Total 60 patients newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus attending Kayachikitsa Opd GAC Nagpur were included for study. subjects details recorded case report form. CRF many variables such as sociodemographic factors, presenting symptoms, risk factors hypertension, obesity glycaemic status, family history physical activity. Other parameters like BMI, glycosylated haemoglobin, fasting post prandial blood sugar lipid profile documented. Descriptive bivariate analyses carried out using XLSTAT software (2020). Amongst subjects, 65% male 93.3% adults. 78% following sedentary lifestyle 40% had diabetes. results revealed that, obesity, diabetes, uncontrolled glycemic lifestyles, hypertension prevalent among subjects. characterization early detection prameha by observing poorvarupa will contribute designing more effective specific strategies screening controlling Maharashtra, India.
